Where Are They Now: The Past Members of Pearl Jam
Since 1990, Pearl Jam has been writing and performing their music. While the band’s guitarists, vocalist, and bassist have remained in the band since its inception, the band has gone through several drummers: Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese, and Jack Irons.
Dave Krusen has remained active in the music business, drumming for several bands, including Hovercraft, Diamond Star Halo, Candlebox, and Unified Theory. In the 2000s, Krusen kept busy performing with Shawn Snyder in his backing band and drumming for Chyenne Kimball from 2005 to 2007. Matt Chamberlain is a career drummer, joining Saturday Night Live’s house band after leaving Pearl Jam. He’s become a well known session drummer, working with acts including Peter Gabriel, Chris Isaak, Stevie Nicks, Elton John, David Bowie, and many others.
Dave Abbruzzese formed Green Romance Orchestra after being fired from Pearl Jam. He also worked with HairyApesBMX, mixing, producing, and engineering their 2000 album, “Out Demons.”
Jack Irons released a solo album “Attention Dimension” in 2004. The album features former bandmates including Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, and Jeff Ament. Irons continues working with other musicians as a session drummer. He reunited with the Red Hot Chili Peppers for their induction into the Hall of Fame in 2012.
